About Bamboo Viscose
Today, one new name that has been cropping up on clothing tags more and more often is bamboo viscose. Bamboo viscose is also known as bamboo rayon or “regenerated bamboo” (it is made out of regenerated cellulose). When compared to other fibers that are also made of cellulose fibers, bamboo viscose does tend to be a bit more expensive (including higher custom duty) than others, attributed to higher manufacturing costs as well as benefits.
- Superior comfort on the skin and to the touch. This material also breathes well.
- It also has antimicrobial properties. The antimicrobial properties come from bamboo, which is inherently this way (same being used in feminine hygiene products).
- Bamboo Viscose sits between natural and synthetic material. On the other hand, bamboo fabric wins over cotton in antimicrobial property. Cotton fabric tends to get attacked by microorganisms.
- Since bamboo is most abundant in China, most bamboo viscose clothes are made in China.
