Cashmere is hair of Kashmir goat, insulating undercoat around the neck. Collecting cashmere is a laborious by-hand during spring molting season. Cashmere is softer and lighter than sheep’s wool, and thus plush, luxurious fabrics with a silky feel.

Merino wool is thinner and softer than common wool, easier to wear next to skin.  A Merino wool fiber is ⅓ the diameter of a human hair. It is soft only next to cashmere.

Not all cottons are created alike. Pima Cotton is produced from a specify type of cotton plant and has only 3% of global cotton output. Pima Cotton is an extra-long staple (more than 34 millimeters) and ultra-soft fabric, commonly used in high-end clothing. ELS is softer, denser and more durable than general cottons. Unlike most types of cotton that pills start to appear after around 10 washes. Pima Cotton hardly ever pills due to its long fibers, making Pima Cotton clothes stay wearable for years.

Today, one would see more and more often of Bamboo Viscose on clothing tags. Also known as regenerated bamboo, bamboo viscose tends to be a bit more expensive.
